1. Who we are

This service is operated by play with coding ("we", "us", "our"), the seller of the courses, certificates and related digital products offered on this website. play with coding is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at support@playwithcoding.com.

2. Information we collect

  • Account data — username, email and password hash when you sign up.
  • Profile data — full name you choose to print on your certificate, optional avatar.
  • Learning data — chapters completed, quiz scores, streaks, coins.
  • Order data — order ID, transaction ID, product purchased, country and currency. Card, UPI and bank details are collected and processed directly by our payment provider Paddle — we never see or store them.
  • Feedback — reviews and ratings you voluntarily submit.
  • Technical data — IP, browser, device type, pages visited, basic analytics.

3. How we use your data

  • To deliver courses, track progress and issue certificates.
  • To fulfil certificate orders and share the minimum data required with Paddle for payment processing, tax and invoicing.
  • To prevent fraud and abuse.
  • To improve the platform based on aggregate usage and feedback.
  • To send transactional emails (receipts, password resets). We do not send marketing email without consent.

4. Legal basis

We process your data under (a) the contract you enter when creating an account or buying a certificate, (b) our legitimate interest in running and improving the service and preventing abuse, (c) compliance with legal obligations (tax and accounting records), and (d) your explicit consent for optional items like reviews.

5. Sharing and Merchant of Record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles the transaction, invoicing, sales tax/VAT/GST, customer service inquiries relating to the payment and returns. For this purpose we share your name, email, order details and country with Paddle, and Paddle acts as an independent data controller for the payment data it collects directly from you. See Paddle's privacy notice at paddle.com/legal/privacy.

We also share limited data with other processors required to deliver the service:

  • Our hosting, database and storage provider
  • Email delivery providers (transactional only)
  • Professional advisers (legal, accounting) and authorities where required by law

We never sell your data.

6. Retention

Account and learning data is kept while your account exists. Order and tax records are kept for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law (typically up to 8 years). You may request deletion at any time (see §9); we will delete or anonymise data that is no longer required to be retained.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed. Payment data is processed by Paddle over PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure. All data is transferred over HTTPS and access is restricted through role-based controls. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.

8. Children

Play with Coding is intended for users aged 13 and above. If you are under 13, please do not create an account.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction, export, restriction or deletion of your data, and object to or withdraw consent for certain processing. Write to support@playwithcoding.com — we respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and a small number of analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage. See our Cookies page for details and preferences.

11. Updates

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified via email or an in-app banner. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
